How to Create a Moose Themed Master Suite for your Cabin

Cabins and lodges have such warmth about them. A fire place, plush rugs, pine furniture, and rustic accents can create a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.

There are so many Rustic cabin and décor items out on the market to choose from.

Whether you are decorating a brand new home or re-decorating a room for a change, it’s always wonderful to see the transformation take place.

The “right look” is always worth working for. I’ve decorated rooms on a budget and homes with no budget limit at all. But no matter the budget, the fun part is finding that perfect table or bedding for the master suite, or the right picture to hang over the mantel.

I love bedding. We spend half of our lives in bed, so why not treat ourselves not only to a good mattress, but wonderful bedding as well. I love sleeping on Egyptian cotton sheets. But sometimes they can be a bit pricey. Victorian Heart Co. also carries a “Micro-fiber” sheet that is just as soft as Egyptian cotton, but not as expensive. They have 4 rich jewel tone colors as well as hospitality white that will go with just about any bedding ensemble you purchase.

When it comes to the outer layers of bedding, I love a good bedding ensemble that I know will last and is quality made. I may spend a little extra, but I know I am getting quality workmanship.

Wooded River creates wonderful bed sets with beautiful accent pillows, window treatments, bed throws, and even bath sets to match. They are made with quality fabrics, furs; suede’s, hides, and leathers and have embellishments such as buttons, leather fringe, suede fringe, and Conchos.

I also love their gorgeous headboards that are created with the same fabrics.

I created a moose theme for a client and used the bedding in the picture above. He wanted a reclaimed wood bed instead of the log bed pictured with the bedding, so I found this set created by Mountain Woods (pictured) for him and he loved it. It was a little more masculine for him and it fit his room perfectly. He actually ordered two night stands and an additional dresser for his room.

On each nightstand, I placed an Aspen log table lamp also created by Mountain Woods(pictured) and a few accents (pictured).

Across the room, my client had this beautiful leather sofa, but it needed some accent pillows to tie both sides of the room together. I found these absolutely gorgeous pillows created by Wooded River that made all the difference in the world. Now all he needed were a few art pieces and we were done. I found a few prints from Merle’s with custom made frames using reclaimed wood. I placed one over the bed and three more around the room. To bring a little more of the outside in, I added two beautiful artificial red and green leaf ficus trees in each corner of the room and placed a small indoor spot light in the base facing upward. It definately created an atmosphere of the outdoors coming inside.

Needless to say, my client was pleased. I’m putting together his office next.
